fatDOG
fatdog is dead. Long live fatdog!
From the very beginning of 2001 through roughly the summer of 2004, this website served as a creative outlet for over thirty friends and friends of friends. It had its high points and low points, its incredible pieces and its terrible pieces, but all the while it was there.
It has been over five years since the website has been consistently trafficked and half a dozen of those authors have since asked to have their material taken down as they've entered the professional world. As such, it seems time to lock the doors that were already all-but-closed.
You taught me so much, I want to apologize to you now that it was mostly trial and error, but we were young.
What we had was so wonderful, and so meaningful, why can't we try again?
You're like a time capsule. A container for awkward rants, artistic trials and attempts, meta observations, and a whole assortment of things the minds behind them thought were deeper than they truly were.
I'll leave the light on.
Time doesn't wait for me, it keeps on rolling...
Such parting brightens the road ahead, but complicates the separation itself.
What has become of you, my friend?
Your once brightly painted facade fades
into ambiguous hues
not so long ago in the town of spring
lived a sunbeam - she liked to sing
played the viola, ran around barefoot
giggling and laughing, in one place never stood
I don't know. Maybe it's just me.
I stand on the line now in tears, only happy to be home. I take one last look at the hell behind me and bid a farewell to the familiar faces fading into the darkness.
Because it's now officially summer in my book, the smell will be out again and again, you should ride with the windows down, the radio up, or just plain go outside and enjoy it.
While i do agree that if an artist doesn't want their material shared on the open internet they should have their way, i dont see why they wouldnt want it to be.
A museum of the content originally featured on fatDOG is in the works. If you are one of the many fatdog authors, I encourage you to contact us about the museum project to see what fun ways you can participate.
Thank you, Everyone. Thank you.
